President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Tuesday turned on strategic solar powered streetlights at the confluence of roads in Vai Town on Bushrod Island, saying she was highly pleased with the level of development as Liberia steadily modernizes.  “We are determining to clear this water wave in turning it into a beautiful place in serving the people of Liberia despite the constant criminal attacks on our infrastructure,” she pointed out at the brief ceremony.  President Sirleaf called on the people of Vai Town community to cooperate as government gears toward relocating Ma Juah Market in order to prevent the water wave from being polluted.  The Liberian leader said she “will join Public Works in asking the legislature to stand with us in beautifying this riverside.”  “People will complain when we start to relocate them, but at the end of the day, they will enjoy it and be satisfied when they see something that compares us with many other countries in our sub region that are moving ahead with development. So, thank you all; let’s turn on the light,” she added.
