We’re Ready For Trouble
Acting police inspector general, Col. Chris C. Massaquoi
has declared that the Liberia National police force will effectively shoulder its responsibilities in protecting lives and property throughout the country without fear or favor.
Warning individuals and groups bent on frequently threatening national peace and stability, Inspector Massaquoi said: “Enough is enough…the police are prepared and ready for any troublemakers”.
“Let me call on all our citizens and those residing within our borders to respect and obey the laws of Liberia. The police will not shy from its responsibilities in protecting lives and properties,” he insisted.
The police chief also warned certain Liberians and others determined to travel the path of criminality, which “continues to threaten our peace and security”, and said the wrath of the law awaits them.
He warned would-be troublemakers: “Beware, beware because the Liberia National Police under our watch will leave no stone unturned in fighting illegal plans until the country is safe for our people.”
He stressed that no individuals—citizens or non-citizens who violate the law – should consider themselves above the law or as untouchable, adding: “The battle line has been drawn between good and evil”.
Director Massaquoi made the declaration during an appreciation program held by the government Monday for the police at their training academy in Paynesville.
He appealed to President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf who graced the occasion for increased budget support to enhance the capacity of the police.
Meanwhile, the President lauded efforts of the police for protecting lives and properties and promised to press for budget support to help enhance their performance.
