LFA President Musa Bility, owner and CEO of SCRIMEX Enterprise, on Wednesday admitted owing U$180,000 in taxes to the government and not U$350,910 as claimed by state prosecutors.
Several defense witnesses including Mr. Bility’s son Sidiki Bility denied government’s claims that SCRIMEX defrauded it of U$350,000 in taxes.
Court officers said more defense witnesses are to appear in court today before the judge can make a final ruling in the case.
State prosecutors last Thursday alleged that SCRIMEX Chief Executive Officer Musa Bility defrauded the government of U$350,000, adding that their evidence against his company was overwhelming for indictment.
The Tax Court was established during President Sirleaf’s first year in office to prosecute defrauders of government’s taxes.
