It’s no secret that Ecobank Liberia is one of the leading banks as evidence of its huge investment in and around the country, which have contributed significantly to the Liberian economy.

The bank was greeted with praises during the festive season when it identified with three orphanage homes as part of its social responsibility to the Liberian people. The orphanages that received goodwill gestures include the Fatima Cottage in Dixville, Esther Johnson Day Care & Retirement Home in Paynesville and the Group of 77th on Newport Street.

The Fatima Cottage, Esther Johnson Day Care & Retirement and the Group of 77 received several bags of rice and other assorted food items.

Mr. Dennis S. Togba of Fatima Cottage said: “Thank God for Ecobank because you are the only bank among several banking institutions here that always identify with us. We are proud of you. You are truly a Pan African Bank that is here to boost the Liberian economy.”

Mrs. Comfort S.D. David of Esther Johnson Day Care & Retirement: “We are speechless because the Old folks were not expecting this from anyone least to say Ecobank. Your gesture has proved that you are not only here to receive but to give back to the people. So, we are grateful to you.”

In a brief response, Ecobank head of Marketing and Communications, Ivy V. Fairley said the donation was their way of identifying with people during the festive season.

She said, despite being a banking institution, “We attach serious importance to our social responsibility; meaning we are more concerned in giving back to people than just receiving.”

The Marketing and Communications boss maintained that Ecobank would not relent in identifying with people, saying, the happiness of Liberians were the bank’s major concern as we all enter another new year.
