Read More...Deportees Arriving Secretly
The first batch of deportees long expected from the United States arrived in the country secretly without mention from authorities of the Bureau of Immigration and Naturalization (BIN).
According to reports, the deportees were charged with crimes involving illicit drugs, aggravated assault, theft of property, scam or money doubling, amongst others.
BIN authorities had told journalists here the deportees were expected to arrive before 30 September 2012 via Roberts International Airport, but nothing further was said since then.
However, credible sources at the BIN told this paper that James Fomba, Neewilly Johnson, Ghouchou Kaba and Thomas Saye have arrived here after being deported from the United States.
Thomas Saye entered America on 14 October 2008 and was charged with fraud , while James Fomba who entered America on 15 November 1999, was charged with terroristic threats.
Neewilly Johnson entered America in 1989 and had been on trial for illegal possession of firearms, while Ghouchou Kaba entered the United States on 16 November 1989 and was later charged with theft of property.
A reliable source, seeking anonymity, told this paper that the deportees had already served their sentences in the United States.
No reason was ascertained for keeping the deportation in secret as all efforts for some from the BIN to comment on the matter proved futile.
