He Killed His Girlfriend

Three of the state witnesses testifying in the murder trial of James Kesselly, including a police investigator from the police Homicide Division, have all linked suspect James Kesselly to killing his girlfriend Marwoi James in November 2012 at Rockspring Valley Community on the Capital Bye pass in Monrovia.

Defendant James Kesselly earlier denied the killing in open court during his plea after hearing the indictment.

The father and mother of the victim told Criminal Court “A” in separates testimonies that the defendant confessed his act to them.

Mr. Lawouah S. Waiwo, father of the victim, said he received a phone call from someone about his daughter’s death before James Kesselly admitted committing the killing.

“He killed my daughter but did not say what led to his action. I’m not surprised over his plea of not guilty. He is responsible for her death,” Mr. Waiwo said in court.

The testimony of the victim’s mother, Kabbah Farlumo in Lorma that was interpreted by a court officer, corroborated with that of her husband.

She said the defendant was responsible for the death of their daughter as evidenced by his confession to them after the incidence.

Police investigator Anthony Sherman and head of the Homicide Division blamed the defendant for the death of the victim.

He said though the defendant claimed it was armed robbers that did the act, investigation proved the contrary of his statement.

“It was the defendant who even located the knife to us in the house that he use to kill his girlfriend,” police agent Sherman pointed out.

The state indicted Mr. James Kesselly for allegedly killing his lover Marwoi James in the Rockspring Valley Community on Capital Bye pass last November.

According to his two-page indictment, while the defendant and victim were in bed, she sustained a deep cut across her left breast from a sharp knife allegedly used by her boyfriend.

It said the victim began to bleed and was rushed to JFK hospital where medical doctors pronounced her dead at 5:00 am.

Public Defender Attorney Amos Kollie is representing the legal interest of defendant James Kesselly.

Meanwhile, the case has recessed to resume next Monday due to the Liberian National Bar Association Convention underway in Harper, Maryland County.
